CEHINAV Research Group has been created around the model basin facilities of Naval Architecture Department of Technical University of Madrid and it covers both experimental and numerical aspects of the Hydrodynamic field.. It has been recognized as a "Research Group" in the first UPM call by Rectorate Resolution of 14 June 2005.

In the experimental field, CEHINAV has participated from 1988, in more than 200 projects under Article number 83 of the Spanish law for hire Universities. These projects are commissioned by both public and private companies and both national and international scope.

From 1990 CEHINAV is member of the International Towing Tank Conference, having actively participated in the Technical Committees and Flow Resistance and Uncertainty measures and currently it belongs to the Quality Committee. It is also member of the Standing Committe of STAB Conference on Ships Stability.

CEHINAV's Quality Management System (download Quality Policy Castellano and English) is certified by LGAI Technological Center, S.A. under No. EC-4738/09 in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 (download our certificate Castellano and English). Also CEHINAV is part of the Madrid Laboratories Network, registered under number 226, with recognition at the highest level 5, "External Recognition", Date 25 October 2010.
