PIV System (Particle Image Velocimetry)
Particle Image Velocimetry System (PIV) is a laser optical measurement technique for research and diagnostics into flow, turbulence, microfluidics, spray atomization and combustion processes. It is is non intrusive technique, which allows measurements without disturbing the flow. The technique is based on determining on the basis of two images captured in a time interval known, the displacement of the particles which are seeded into the flow. The development of this technique in recent years has allowed its application in the characterization of complex flows achieving remarkable progress in the field of fluid mechanics.
CEHINAV PIV system is a 2D system (two-dimensional) which consists on a high resolution digital Basler camera (full frame, 2046X2046 pixels and 180FPS) and a CNI laser, 2W power and 532nm wave length.
