Sloshing Laboratory
Sloshing: violent movement of a fluid inside a container subjected to external forces. CEHINAV has its own laboratory for the study of this phenomenon with a mechanical system that allows testing different types of containers subject to regular and irregular movements in the main degree of freedom. The laboratory is equipped with: SDOF (Single degree of freedom) rig for regular & irregular roll motion, Piezoelectric & piezoresistive pressure sensors, Piezoelectric accelerometers for vibrations measurements, Temperature loop control, High speed video camera recording (Max 1200 fps), High frequency data acquisition system (National Instrument) up to 50KHz, (PIV System, Particle Image Velocimetry). In addition it has a special electronic-mechanical system for "dambreak" studies .
