PESCANOVA is the greatest private ship owner in the world
with 120 units, of which, in the mid term 40 will reach an age in which
these actions of maintenance will be advisable.
PESCANOVA is the leader in the Spanish fish and seafood market. It was
establish in 1960. It developed the frozen fish industry and nowadays
is the leader supplier all over the world.
Key Person : Pelayo Alvarez
Pelayo Alvarez is Naval Architect with the Pescanova Group. He got his
Degree in Ship Science at Southampton University on 2003. He worked
with Izar during his training on the turbines factory as a production
engineer and making tests on the designs. Amongst his responsibilities
are the supervision of works carried out in Pescanova vessels and the
R&D. He is the assistant of the Fleet Manager of Pescanova,
Joaquín Gallego who is also involved in the project. They
have been colaborating with UPM in optimisation of Pescanova fleet
propulsion and hydrodynamic performance.
